We would like to announce a joint school-workshop in “Quantum simulations and many-body physics with light” to be held in Chania, Crete, June 4-11, 2016. The meeting will be co-hosted with the annual WG4 meeting. More information on the WG4 meeting, including dates to follow soon.
The goal of this residential joint school and workshop is to help to bring different scientific communities together, discuss the state of the art developments and the open challenges in this interdisciplinary field, and provide training for young researchers in the necessary background topics ranging from quantum optics and nanophotonics to condensed matter and quantum technologies.
NQO topics covered in this joint school-workshop will include among others: photon nonlinearities in the quantum scale (WG1), generation, detection and storage of quantum states of light at the nanoscale (WG1), quantum coherence(WG3), cooperative effects(WG4), quantum correlations and many-body physics tailored by strongly confined optical fields (WG4) .
