Second edition of the international School of Plasmonics and Nano-Optics

The School will be held in Cetraro, Italy, from 15th – 18th of June 2018

The international School of Plasmonics and Nano-Optics is promoted by the working group ‘Plasmonics and Nano-Optics’ of SIOF (the Italian branch of EOS) and will be held in Cetraro, a wonderful location in the south of Italy and will be a joint event with the NANOPLASM conference taking place from June 10th to June 15th.

The aim of the School is to bring together students and scientists at the early stage of their career in the field of photonics, interested in the study of light at the nanoscale, to present and discuss the latest research and future directions of the field in an open atmosphere, and help developing the community of plasmonics and nano-optics.

For more information, the submission of abstracts, and the registration, please go to www.plasmonica.it/2018school.

“Greenhorn Meeting 2018” at Heidelberg University, Germany

held from September 26th to 28th, 2018

This year, the meeting is organized by the group of Prof. Markus Oberthaler at the Kirchhoff Institute for Physics. As you may know, the Greenhorn Meeting is a great opportunity for young scientists (master and PhD students in their starting phase) in the field of quantum optics, atomic physics, ultra-cold gases and optical physics in general, to obtain an overview of the field and get to know other young scientists. As usual, the meeting provides plenty of time for presentations and discussions in a relaxing atmosphere.

We are happy to announce that William D. Phillips from NIST will be joining the Greenhorn Meeting for an invited talk.

For further information and registration, please have a look at
https://www.kip.uni-heidelberg.de/greenhorn2018/

The number of participants is limited to 30, the registration deadline is August, 31st 2018 (Friday).
