WG1 meeting in Geneva on July 16 and 17 and was jointly held with the Single-Photon Workshop 2015
The first day of the meeting consisted of 16 hiqh quality talks divided into four sessions:
- Superconducting single-photon detectors I with a focus on recent developments on the understanding of the detection mechanisms of SNSPDs.
- Nanoscale single-photon sources with the use of organic molecules, quantum dots and SiV in diamond. This session was co-organized with SIQUTE EU network.
- Superconducting single-photon detectors II reporting recent developments on novel SNSPD designs and applications.
- Nanophotonics for quantum optics recent developments on SNSPDs in diamond photon structures, single-photon and entanglement sources using quantum dots and on the cryogenic spectroscopy on single organic moduls.
On 17th of July the meeting continues with a welcome and introduction to the COST Action by WG1 leader Félix Bussières, followed by a presentation on the scientific focus of WG1 according to MoU. Costanza Toninelli provides a brief summery of the outcome of the Gender Balance meeting in Florence. All participants summarized their expertise, interests and motivations for joining the Action. The seven speakers pecifically reported on ongoing, potential ideas of collaborations that can be further developed within the Action.
